Personal Statement
Hi, Coach, my name is Knox Faulkner, I am a student athlete at Union City High School, in Union City Tennessee. For several years now I have dreamed of playing college baseball. Since I was 11 I have played 2nd base as my primary position, however, my coaches have used me as an outfielder on many occasions. My Junior year in 2014 I again started as the varsity 2nd baseman, I finished the season with a .373 batting average and an OBP of .475, while scoring 25 times and adding 13 RBI's. Also, in 2014 I have gained some limited time as a relief pitcher. In the 2013 season, as a sophomore I was the starting 2nd baseman on the varsity with a .926 fielding average. As a courtesy runner I scored 11 runs and had 1 stolen base, while helping our team win the District and Regional titles with a 28-7 record. In 2012, I was a courtesy runner scoring 17 runs with 1 stolen base. Also that same year, playing in the Union City Babe Ruth League I received the coveted Jim Cawley Hustle Award. I plan on playing college baseball while attaining my degree. My current GPA is 3.0 and my ACT score is 24, both of which I will improve in the next year.
