Personal Statement
My goal is to earn a world class education while competing in intercollegiate baseball. Even though my father was a professional baseball pitcher, my academic pursuits always took priority over my sports. As a result, I attended an academically rigorous private school through my sophomore year which did not emphasize baseball. Transferring to Lake Travis, a large public high school with a nationally ranked baseball program as a junior I was unable to secure a roster slot on a very good team. I will play for Action Baseball Club for the summer of 2015 and I intend to enroll in fall baseball class at Lake Travis for my senior year and I expect to make the team.
I feel that I am a good candidate for the right college team in that I am constantly improving and I will be able to pass the academic scrutiny of your admissions office. I ask only to be evaluated by my current performance and not by my previous experience and I will work hard to contribute to your team as a pitcher. I will attend the Stanford II camp (July 17) and the Princeton Camp (August 4) this summer. I hope to see you there.
