I have participated in organized sports for nearly thirteen years now. Athletic activities, especially sports, are hobbies of mine that I take great pride in while participating. I bring a positive attitude as well as enthusiasm to my fellow teammates. I feel the need to take leadership in any activity that I am involved in, not only to achieve success, but satisfaction as well.
My favored locations for attending college are not vast, mainly because I maintain a strong relationship with family. I would prefer a college here in my home state of Texas. However, a quality education is most important to me. If the opportunity arises with the right school, I would gladly pursue it. I have grown up in a small town, therefore, I feel small schools might be better suited for me and easier to adjust my freshman year.
Financial aid will greatly help my family and myself, as I am taking the next step towards college. My older sister is attending college at the moment, and my parents are aiding her towards a college education as well. My desired major is to obtain my doctorate in physical therapy, for I feel the need in the future to help in the recovery process of any aspiring athletes. A goal of any athlete is to play at the highest level of competition, as well as being a major contributor to a team.
During the fall of 2010, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer, which caused a major setback in my high school career. My junior year was greatly affected, with the lingering effects of chemotherapy lasting througout the season. I was basically starting my strength recovery from scratch. However, with my positive attitude, I have greatly succeeded in gaining it back, and I feel today that my hard work and determination have brought me to the greatest shape in my life. I plan on bringing the positive attitude and leadership out on the field once again for my senior season, and fighting our way to a state championship.
