The first select team I played on, I was a year younger than the rest of the players. I sat the bench for the first time ever. Instead of feeling sorry for myself, I asked the coaches what I needed to do to play. They told me what I needed to work on, and before the season was over, I was on the field and haven’t sat the bench on any of my teams since. From that point on, I knew that baseball would play a big part in my life. Although I play football, basketball and run track, baseball has always been my number one focus. It has taught me leadership skills both on and off the field. My teammates and coaches know that I am willing to do what it takes to benefit the team in all situations. One of my coaches told me that I am the most unselfish player he has ever coached. I was second in the line up and I knew that my job, above all else, was to get base runners around the bases. I will and want to sacrifice my stats for a team win at all times.
During my Freshman year of high school, I committed my life to my Lord and savior. I made a deal with Him: He would help me get to the top and on the way, I will give all glory to Him and turn as many lives in His direction as I can. You don’t see many powerful six foot two baseball players play as scrappy, with so much diversity and as hard as I do. This is what makes me a great fit for any opportunity that arises.
