Personal Statement
My name is Jordan Salas. I am Junior and 4th generation Pirate at Lubbock Cooper High School. I am a center fielder, previous short stop and 2nd basemen.
I always thought I'd go on to coach others, but over the last couple of years I've really taken an interest in emergency medicine and would like to pursue a career as an ER physician. Going to college is an incredible opportunity, getting to play baseball while I'm there, is a dream.
I believe in loyalty, hard work, responsibility and leadership. I have played sports since I was four years old and I can't imagine my life without it. I love this game. There is nothing like it. If you want someone that works hard, and then goes back for more, that's me. If you want someone that finds more interest on the field than on the couch, that's me. I will do what you ask when you ask.
I can't tell you what is different about me. I can only tell you what makes me, me. I believe there is a time to lead and I believe there is a time to follow. Hard work never stops and neither do I. I want to be outside in the sun, in the cold, or even in the rain. I do not like to fail, not as a person, in sports or academically.
