Personal Statement
At my high school we started a baseball team my Freshmen year. During this time I was catapulted into a leadership role, due to having middle school students on our team. This was a new position for myself to be in, since I was not used to playing with 7th graders on my team. This high school team has continued throughout both my Sophomore and Junior year. Through this experience I had learned how to keep my composure and staying positive knowing that I had younger athletes looking to me as a leader. While the majority of high school athletes have not had to deal with that situation and would not know how to take on the task, I believe that without these teams I would be as composed on the field, and I do not think I would've learned how to stay positive in situations where the team would need it the most.
In college I am looking to major in Kinesiology, so I can help athletes with injuries get well and back to their game. As a baseball player, I have had my own share of arm aches and pains, without the help of doctors I would not have been able to get well as fast as I did. The fit academically is the first thing I am looking for in a school. The second, is to be able fulfill my first major goal and play collegiate baseball. Personally, I believe that I can help any team due to my character on and off the field. On the field I am able to be a leader, hard worker, and attentive to detail. Off the field I realize that I represent not only the school but, the team, my family, and myself. As a captain I can benefit your team from my experiences and my work ethic.
