Ashton Leech '16 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a sophomore at Whitney High School and will graduate in 2016. I am involved in multiple sports including basketball, golf, and football, but my goal is to play collegiate baseball. My primary positions are outfield and pitcher. I know that attaining the goal of playing college sports takes commitment, and I have made baseball a top priority in life from a very young age. I began playing select baseball with the Waco Storm Premier Baseball organization at age 11 and plan to continue with them through graduation. I was a starting freshman outfielder and lead off batter last year on our varsity baseball team, earning 2nd Team All District accolades. I pride myself on being a leader on the field and on the court. This year I earned the position of starting point guard for the varsity basketball team and helped lead the team to a district championship. Beyond the playing field, I also place academics as a top priority and currently hold a 3.9 GPA, have scored well on my PSAT, and plan on taking my ACT this spring.
I am a highly competitive athlete and aspire to play college baseball at a very competitive level. I am open to colleges at all divisions, and I am  interested in colleges in and around Texas. At this time, I am considering a major in physical therapy. I am confident that my leadership skills, academic abilities, and work ethic will help me to attain my goal of being recruited and being a strong contributing factor to any collegiate institution.
