Personal Statement
My name is William Kyle (WK) Dalton. I am currently a junior at Rural Retreat High School in Rural Retreat Virginia. Baseball has been my favorite sport and I have been playing ever since I was big enough to pick up a bat. I have played many positions and I will try to play at any position on the field and give it my best. I have played varsity baseball since I was a freshman in high school. So far in high school I have played third base, shortstop, first base, and pitcher. I have taken every opportunity I have been given to play and will continue to do so. I have played baseball every summer since I started playing. I played many years with a local little league team and made it to the top 8 of the Virginia little league state tournament. Over the past two summers I have played on a 18 and under Dixie League team. I have attended many showcases and camps along the way. I am a good listener but I am also quiet. Anything anyone asks me to do I am glad to do it. I have took pride and responsibility in making good grades throughout school and I plan to continue to do so. I attend the Southwest Virginia Governors School for math and science and then I go back to my home school for Humanities. I practice baseball every chance I get. Currently I hit twice a day during the week. In the fall I worked out with my summer baseball team hitting, building arm strength, conditioning, and doing strength training as well. I lift weights and condition at least one time a day and sometimes too. I want to be the best student athlete I can be. I also want to be the best person I can be to everyone, I want to treat others, as I want to be treated. In college I would like to get the best education I can get as well as continue to play baseball. I will work my hardest everyday and help my team, family, and friends as much as I can. Playing baseball has been my dream since I was a little kid and it is still my dream today.
