Personal Statement
At this time I want to obtain the opportunity to play college baseball. I would like to graduate high school in the top 25 of my class, at this time I'm ranked 25th out of 346, and currently hold a 4.05 GPA. I'm currently a member of the National Honors Society, and serve on an Advisory Board for my church as a representative for the youth. I have big dreams and hopes with baseball, but know the percentages are low on the number of players make it to the MLB. At this time I would like to make things easier on my parents by working hard to get some of my college paid for not only through athletics, but also academics. Education is very important not only to me, but my family.
I have been very active in Youth Ministry, and with Mission Trips not only in the US but also outside of the US. I was able to experience being in Brazil for Missions in 2012. I've been able to travel inside the US to North Carolina (Indian Reservation), Roanoke VA, and Saint Simons Island in GA. These types of experiences have taught me the importance of giving back, working as a team, and most of importantly how fortunate I am as a person. I tend to live by the quote "HARD WORK BEATS TALENT, WHEN TALENT DOESN'T WORK HARD". I use this not only on the baseball field, but also in the classroom, and everyday life.
