Personal Statement
My number one dream is to play baseball at the major league level! I set my standards high so that I can work to my fullest potential in reaching my dream. I am constantly reminded that with hard work and dedication you can go far in life whether its baseball or my education. A quote that I live my life by is “if you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe then you will be successful.” I put in more time and effort than my opponents so that I will succeed when the time comes for me to face them on the ball field. I am constantly sacrificing many things that a normal teenager would want to do; I am always crafting my swing, making mental approaches, and getting better at my defense. I never want to leave this game one day saying what if I took 20 extra swings, or what if I took 20 more fly balls. That’s not me I will always put in the work to become the best I can be! And in my opinion that’s still not enough I am always striving to get better and better in anything I do. I want to be the best at everything I do, so I can promise you I will outwork anyone to reach my goals and dreams.
I am a natural born leader! I always take that role as a leader whether it’s on the field or in the classroom. I am confident that I can lead my team to great success, or my classmates in obtaining the highest grade possible. Baseball is a team sport, I am not an individual player, and I do what it takes to help my team win such as giving up my at bat to sacrifice bunt, to put a runner in scoring position. I never get down on a teammate; I’m always picking them up and telling them to keep their head in the game. My teammates will be the first to tell you I always have their back, bringing positive energy to my team and classmates.
One of my best qualities as a person is being a good listener and always willing to help others before myself. I take constructive criticism on a daily basis, whether it’s from a coach, player or teacher. It’s what makes me a better player and student. I am able to take that, and use it as positive energy, to motivate myself self to work harder to perfect my game and studies. My dreams have been set; it’s now on me to take the steps to achieve them!
