Personal Statement
I am interested in pursuing a degree in science or medicine, like physical therapy, sports medicine, or animal care. My mom is a nurse and I think that something like that would make a good career and one where I can help people, but I am not completely committed to a degree plan and want to remain open to possibilities. I've been playing baseball since I was 5 and there's nothing else like it for me, the friendships that I've made, the lessons I've learned, and the competition. My parents put me in private high school so that I would be challenged more academically and have more extra-curricular opportunities available to me. It was a hard transition my freshman year adjusting to the classes and making new friends, but I have become much more comfortable over the last 2 years. I really think this school is better preparing me for college. I've had to work hard to be where I am, both on the field and in the classroom. But the effort makes me value what I've earned even more. What makes me different than most athletes is that I am coachable, I work hard and I stay humble. I believe in doing the right thing and making my parents proud of me. I love baseball and if I could, I'd play forever, but I know that may not happen, so I'll play as long as I can. Along the way, I'll do my best and learn as much as I can, on the field and in the classroom, so that I won't have regrets. Instead, I want to have great memories and be prepared for the future.
