Hello,
My name is Ryan Houchens and this is my story. My decision to apply and attend to a College or University will be the academic and athletic excellence. My preferred field of study is Business Administration emphasizing in Entrepreneurship. Academics comes first and foremost. To also play baseball during my college career would be the best of both worlds.
First, I would like to tell you about my accomplishments at the wise old age of 17. My GPA after completing my Junior year is 3.88/4.00. For my senior year, I am taking classes at LFCC and I am dual enrolled in Calculus. My academic accomplishments consist of Honors Earth Science, Biology, Algebra II, Chemistry & Pre-Calculus. In addition, my academic awards are as impressive. These consist of being inducted into the National Honors Society in 2016, Honor Roll, 1st Place at TSA Regional competition 2017, Lettered in Choir, 2016, District Choir, 2016, Lettered in Academics (Freshman, Sophomore & Junior years), Student/Athlete award (3.5 GPA or higher, 2017) and Lettered in Baseball (Sophomore & Junior years).
Now, lets talk about my passions. Baseball and Choir have been my passions over the years, unfortunately with my senior schedule I wasn't able to continue with Choir. Baseball has always been my constant. I have been playing baseball ever since I was 4 years old. I think baseball 365 days a year. I have been playing travel baseball since I was 11 and in most cases multiple teams each year. Even in the off season, I have competitive training several times a week and also have batting lessons from a professional coach each week. I am looking forward to playing at the collegiate level and proving that I will be one of the elite players on the team.
One of the major things that will convinced me to apply and attend your College or University will be the baseball student athletes. I am looking for a tight net family that the baseball team represents. Starting with the Coach to show all of the trophies and rankings of the baseball team, but who stresses the biggest accomplishments is the baseball team graduating on or before the end of their 4 years with an outstanding GPA. I want to be part of this type of program and let everyone know that this was the best fit for me.
Sincerely,
Ryan Houchens
