Hi. My name is Jeffrey Fahnlander, but my friends, family and team mates call me JJ. I have been raised that my first and most important job at this stage of my life is school. I am always pushing myself, whether that’s taking honors or AP courses, striving for a better grade on assignments, working out, taking extra batting practice or staying after school to ask for help. Without a solid GPA I would not be allowed to play sports, so knowing this keeps me accountable and motivated in school. I currently hold a 3.98 Accumulative GPA after three years of high school. Not only am I an “A” student, but have earned “Student of the Quarter” through distinct characteristics such as Respect, Helpfulness, Leadership and Hard Worker. I also volunteered in feeding the homeless and in a mentorship program, staying after school to help my peers with their homework. My course load includes Calculus, AP English, Anatomy & Physiology and Civics . Athletically, I have played baseball and football up to my freshman year, where I have now decided to focus all of my athletic ability on baseball – my true passion. I have played baseball since I was a toddler, starting out on recreational teams and migrating to “Select” organizations. I am currently a senior and two year captain, I play baseball for Coach Larry Marshall at Emerald Ridge High School. If you were to ask my coaches to describe me, I believe they would all agree that I am a true team player, extremely coachable and always give 110%. Another strength I pride myself on is never accepting the NOW, but always looking at how to better myself in the future. I am currently working out three-four days a week with Kyle Rogers, Power Training t Diamond Sports, training hard in baseball specific exercises. I am constantly evaluating my strengths to help me overcome my weaknesses, and looking to build my Baseball IQ. Aside from all of this serious stuff, I still love to play video games, whiffle ball, basketball and football with my friends in the neighborhood and spend time with my family.
