Personal Statement
I have played many sports; football, basketball, golf, racquetball, cycling, and running, however, my passion is and will always be baseball. As a sophomore, I was the starting third baseman for our varsity baseball team, Bethel High School located in Spanaway, WA. As a junior, I was the starting third baseman and was voted by my varsity peers as co-captain of the team. I believe I was voted co-captain because of my leadership and work ethic on and off the field. I get to the field early, and usually am the last to leave. I take extra batting practice and fielding to hone my skills, as well as help the other players develop their skills to become better physically and mentally. Between varsity baseball, I also play fall ball and select that pretty much consumes the entire year. I led our 15U select team with a batting average of .429, slugging of .551, and OPS of 1.047. Last year on my 18U select team I had a batting average of .344, slugging .526, and OPS of .934. I exude a humble demeanor, but am very self-motivated and a good listener around my coaches and my peers.
I currently have an aggregate 3.667 GPA, while maintaining AP and Honor’s classes throughout the school year. For college, I am looking at pursuing a degree in Business.
In addition to baseball, I volunteer my time in the community through work parties and throughout the year at local homeless shelters.
I believe my leadership abilities, work ethic, and commitment to excellence will be an asset to your baseball program.
