Personal Statement
What can I say, I'm a late bloomer, physically. Some of my friends were shaving at 14, but I'm still not needing a razor at 17. I started 2016 at 5'5" and 138 lbs and in October I'm 5'11" 175 lbs. That change caused me a lot of pain and discomfort. I fractured my thumb in the winter catching bullpens and had discomfort and tightness in my right hip throughout the high school and summer season. I played as much as I could, but it felt like I was constantly seeing physicians and physical therapists to make sure I wasn't injured and was adapting to my new body. Through stretching and strength training I'm up to full speed and looking forward to this off season and 2017 games. I'm working out with Driveline baseball and have personal bests of 385 in the dead lift and squatting 315. I'm hitting 6 days a week, running, and enjoying some Infielding call camps.
I'm an excellent student who has always been in my District's honors programs and qualified for the National Honor Society. I'm currently a junior in high school, but taking all my classes at a local junior college. I want to become a lawyer and work in an MLB front office when my playing career is over.
I love baseball and though I've played other sports, I always come back to wanting to practice and play more baseball. If I could work at it, all day, every day, I would count my blessings.
I appreciate you looking at my profile and taking the time to watch some of my videos. I've always been a very technically sound player and a great defender. My body is now catching up to my skills. I look forward to meeting you. I'll bring great leadership skills, a robust work ethic, and excellence as a student athlete to your program.
