Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Conner Banta. I have been playing baseball since the moment I could walk. I have real goals to play college baseball. My last 3 years have been a challenge that I worked hard through to overcome. I broke a bone in my knee my 8th grade school year, but it went undiagnosed by multiple doctors for 2 years. I played hard and pushed through the pain for two years. It caused me to quit football and basketball, two sports I loved, but I would not give up on baseball. My sophomore year, the doctors finally found the broken bone in my knee through an MRI. I was out of baseball my sophomore year and all through the summer because of surgery. I was in a machine that moved my leg for me for over 6 weeks, lost a lot of strength, but now I feel it has made me stronger and is what is pushing me to become the best I can be. I have been going to a strength and conditioning workout the last year that prepares me mentally and physically for baseball.
I grew up watching my uncle play D1 baseball, and I've always dreamed it would be me out there playing college ball. I will give all that I've got on and off the field.
