Personal Statement
Coaches,
My name is Eric Towsley, and I am in the class of 2017. I am a young senior at 17 all year, so I feel I will contribute after a full year of college growth both academically and on the field, but my will to play hopefully propels me forward earlier, I love to play. My primary positions are catcher and shortstop. To see my profiles and YouTube video’s click on the links below.
My hopes are to be a student-athlete majoring in Kinesiology within sports medicine. I would like to be a student athlete in a program with possible tutoring or a collaborative learning environment. Being a red shirt freshman is an option for me, becoming a confident student in my studies, training at the next level for baseball, and putting on muscle in preparation for my sophomore year, where I hope to contribute to a winning team.
I am very competitive, a perfectionist, who loves to play well and contribute to the team winning. I am very hard on myself when I make mistakes, expecting excellence of myself. My favorite part of the game is hitting and running the bases, because of this, I work very hard on my hitting. I think I like catching so much because I am involved in every play. I have played many positions, but primarily I have played short stop, catcher, and pitched a bunch until my sophomore year. I pitched a no-hitter the day before my 14th birthday, and in Junior Legion ball my summer before sophomore year, I pitched a few shout-outs. Because of my pitching knowledge it makes me a good hitter and catcher.
This last varsity season, I was one, two, or three in most hitting categories, completing the season with a .424 as the starting catcher, All Conference 1st Team Catcher. I completed fire science at my High School in partnership with the Yakima Fire District becoming a cadet firefighter.
Thank Coaches for your time
Eric Towsley, they call me E.T.
