Personal Statement

Baseball has been my life for as long as I can remember. It has become a major part of my life and is not only a hobby for me, it’s a passion. In looking at me for your college, I believe I bring many positive qualities that set me apart from others.

Most notably, I have always had to work harder than the other guy because I do not possess prototypical height some coaches look for. Even though I do not possess the prototypical height, my desire and work ethic has allowed me to excel at every level of baseball I have played. I was one of very few ever Freshmen to be moved up to JV. The following year, I became one of very few Sophomores ever to be moved up to Varsity. As a Sophomore on Varsity I was a second string catcher, #3 pitcher, and starting DH. The summer of 2015, I tried out for and made the Wisconsin Rhinos Travel Baseball Team and excelled in this environment. I batted third, started at catcher, and led the team in home runs. Currently, I am the starting catcher for my high school and I will be playing travel baseball with the Wisconsin Mash this summer.

My experiences have taught me to become a leader, hard worker and good teammate. I would bring great character to the team. I feel that I am mentally and physically tough, and get along very well with my teammates and coaches. I have found that many times teammates come to me with questions, and I always do my best to help. I have a very positive attitude on and off the field and believe I am very coachable.

My ideal situation would be to play at the highest level of baseball possible in the mid-west, even if that means I may have to sit the bench for a year or two to improve my skills. However, I am open to other opportunities, colleges, and/or locations that would fit my goals for baseball and education.

It has always been my dream to play college baseball.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
