Personal Statement
After 13 starts as a freshman at Viterbo and 13 more as a sophomore, I have been given permission to contact as I look for more opportunity to see the field.
I had shoulder surgery after freshmen year and am finally fully healthy.
I spent last summer as a member of the Albert Lea Lakers in the Pioneer Collegiate Level League.
I am looking for a program that will give me a chance to be the guy behind the plate.
At every level, I am told that defensively I am a the top in receiving and blocking.
Threw a 1.98 pop for UM-Crookston on 11/14/14.
It's crunch time and I am still looking for the perfect match of opportunity, academics, and affordability.
I am Evan Wick, an 18 year old senior catcher from East Troy, WI.
THERE IS A SHORT VIDEO OF GAME FOOTAGE FROM 10/11/14 AT UW PARKSIDE.
Like most athletes, my goal is to play at the highest level available to me. Just as important as the level though is making sure the program and school I choose is a good fit for me as a player and a person.
I just finished catching for the PoundTown Wreckers, a showcase travel fall ball team. In my starts, we were 10-2-1, allowing under two runs per game.
My upcoming senior season will be my fourth as East Troy's starting Varsity catcher. I received Honorable Mention All- Conference as a junior and my goal continues to be to get First Team All- Conference recognition.
.
Although my strength has been my defense (2014 Defensive MVP Award/Gold Glove), my batting average in the summer for.Post 188 Legion was .404.
I have been blessed to have many opportunities to play the game and work with some great coaches and teammates. I am excited about the opportunities that are being presented to play at the next level.
My off season consists of weight room work, working various youth camps, improving my academics, and attending camps and showcases that help me improve on the field. I view it as my responsibility to get better at the game every day and give back to the community and those that have helped me in this process. I have spent countless hours in the gym working with players from age 8-16 in group and individual settings.
Academically, my ACT is not as high as I'd like it, but my 3.2 GPA shows my steady work ethic as I have been on honor roll every semester of high School.
Thank you for taking the time to look over my profile. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you in the very near future.
