Personal Statement
I am going to be a 6'0 junior at Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau Highschool. I love baseball! It's been apart of me since I was little. I started T ball at the age of 4. I started 12U baseball teams when I was 7 years old. I played on 14U teams ever since I was 11 years old. One of my coaches taught me something that I take with me on the baseball field and in life. He said "believe in the 3D's: dedication, determination and desire. You do those three things, you'll be successful in baseball and in life." I've followed that motto everyday since.
For any college baseball team who would want me on their team; I promise to give you everything I have. I'm a leader. I will lead by example with my work ethic and will do all things needed to help our team succeed to the next level. My defensive skillset will cover the outfield gaps and make the catches necessary for our team to win each inning. When needed, my arm will gun down anyone trying to take the extra base away from our team. On the mound, I will make the necessary pitches to get us in and off the field quickly, using my fastball, 2 seam, curveball and slider efficiently and confidently. In the batters box, I'm very good at getting on base and will move my teammates around the bases. I'm very strong at understanding the strike zone. I'm willing to lay the bunt when necessary or take several pitches to work the count in our favor.
I want to be better than the next guy. I want to learn and get better every single day. Both in baseball and in my education. I'm coachable/teachable, listen to feedback and incorporate into my athletic and academic career. I'm a good communicator, a great voice as a starter, a reserve or coming off the bench. I'll get my teammates excited and loud, will always talk to my teammates about our roles during a situation on the field, and will be there to help support my teammates when things are good or bad.
I know I'm the right fit for any college baseball program who needs a team player, a leader, and someone who will give 110%. That's who I am. I'm Zack Thiesse, and I want to play college baseball for your team.
