Personal Statement
Ever since my parents introduced me to sports, I have avidly competed in them. My favorite was always basketball, until I fell face first in love with America's past time. It all started with a small tryout for a select baseball team out of Waukesha, WI. After the tryout I was told I did outstanding, and I made the team! Little would I know, I would make unbreakable friendships and forever remembered moments with that team. Our first year, our select team won the state league championship, and it was what sparked the idea of how well we all worked together. After one year of select baseball, the coaches and parents all decided we had a flowering chemistry that would only grow stronger. This convinced them to put us all on the same select football and basketball teams.
So, ever since I was in fourth grade, my life has been basically run by sports and I love it. However, that state championship with my first baseball team sparked my love and passion for baseball. My dream is to play baseball until I grow old, and enjoy the moments I experience, while still competing to the best of my ability.
When it comes to baseball, I will work my you know what off until I'm better then the person next to me. This is why I prefer playing against the highest level of competition, rather than playing down to my competition. If there is something a coach points out that I could be doing better, you better believe tomorrow morning I'll be working on improving that skill. I will work harder than anyone, and achieve the goals myself and others want me to achieve. I wish to play the highest level of baseball possible and winning baseball awards at that level. Basically, I will be a relentless workhorse. This is why I think I am a good candidate for any team. I also stride to do my best in the classroom, as I know that is very important in college. After all, student comes first in the word "Student Athlete."
