Personal Statement
I have loved the game of baseball ever since I was a little kid. Whenever I step on the field it feels like a second home to me. Being able to start and contribute on my Varsity team as a sophomore was an amazing learning experience. After six years at Shortstop I made the transition to Centerfield midway through my junior season to best help my team, combined with feedback from college coaches I met at showcase events, who encouraged me to take advantage of my speed and arm strength. Being recognized as an All-Conference Honorable Mention in the outfield with only 3 weeks of experience was an unexpected honor and something to build on for next season. This fall I’m excited to be playing my second year for the Wisconsin All-Stars, a select travel team that plays in showcase tournaments throughout the Northeast U.S. and Midwest. After 7 years of playing football in the fall I made the difficult decision not to play my Senior year to focus entirely on baseball and strength training for next season.
My goal is to put myself in the best position possible to earn both athletic and academic scholarships from an outstanding college, and to play baseball at the next level. I recognize that making this happen will take a lot of hard work and dedication. Staying sharp with the weather we have in Wisconsin is also really important so I look for every opportunity I can to train during the off season. And as a four sport Varsity athlete, I’ve learned that being organized and working hard are critical to performing at a high level and keeping my grade point up.
I’m always pushing myself to get better in whatever I do, whether it be sports, academics or just in my everyday life. I enjoy playing baseball because it gives me the opportunity to compete and have fun while playing the game that I love.
