My name is Bryce Villarreal. I am a 2018 SS/2B from Franklin H.S. in Wisconsin. On the field, I am a very good middle infielder and do not make many errors. I am smart and always anticipating the next play. I have the ability to quickly turn the double play from either side and make a strong throw. I’m quick, have good range, and take charge on hard to reach pop ups. At the plate, I am a disciplined hitter with a good knowledge of the strike zone. I am a line drive hitter that does not strike out much and has maintained a high OBP. I am skilled on the base paths, making smart running decisions, and I have only been caught stealing once in high school.
At school, I study hard to maintain a high GPA. I have also taken several AP courses to push myself in the classroom. I excel in science and math and plan to have a career in engineering. I have been on the high honor roll and honor roll throughout my high school career at one of the top high schools in southeast Wisconsin.
I am currently a member of the Best Buddies program. This is a program where people dedicate time to spend with those who have special needs and give them experiences and friendships that they can’t unfortunately get for themselves. The main reason I joined the program, is because I have a sister with Down Syndrome. So, I personally feel like I could help and make a difference in other people’s lives.
Away from the field, I work hard and strive to improve. During the off-season, I train at BRX Performance, which has a baseball specific weight training program and is also the home gym of several Major League Baseball players. As a result, I have made significant increases in my times and speed but plan to get faster and stronger. One of my ultimate goals is to play baseball in college. This would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that would get me one step closer to a lifelong dream and give me the foundation to become a successful and productive person.
Thank you for reading my message. I hope to hear from you soon.
