Personal Statement
A huge influence on my life has been my parents. My parents started their own business at a young age called Custom Fabricating & Supplies. They have taught me that you have to work for everything you want, and that you get what you put into it. This mindset has pushed me to work harder than the rest. I was introduced to the sport at age 4. At that age, I did not make my own decisions, so my parents were the ones who put me into it. Looking back now, I am grateful that my parents showed me this sport. Baseball has already taught me so much, on and off the field. I have learned that you will fail, but it is about how you bounce back, just like in the real world. Baseball is a mental game, and with the experience I have with the game, I have the confidence in myself to not be easily rattled or worried when it does not go my way. If I allow myself to worry too much, I know the game will eat me alive. I know this is a game where you fail more than you succeed. Academics are above sports for me and my family. I always try to challenge myself in the classroom. I make sure to make the honor roll each quarter. I have already taken AP U.S. History, and plan on taking AP English, and AP Psychology this coming fall. For college, I plan on continuing to challenge myself, and look to major in Psychology. I think what sets me apart from the rest is my mentality. You will not find me flustered on the field or in the classroom. I will always hustle in everything I do, and will work for my high expectations. My attention to detail is unmatched. For years I have been breaking down my swing and pitching mechanics to be efficient and successful. To sum it up, I will do whatever I can to reach my goals to be successful.
