Want Athletic Scholarships? Use Technology!

July 1st, 2008 - by Adam Diorio

Technology plays a critical role in the athletic recruiting process.  The college coaches are constantly finding ways to utilize technology to begin building relationships with potential recruits as early as possible.  While the NCAA does its best to keep up to date on all the new recruiting tactics, as outlined in this article, the college coaches are almost always one step ahead.

This article should raise two questions for any family with a child who is serious about playing collegiate athletics:

  1. Do we know how technology can and cannot be used to maximize my student athlete’s recruiting process?  Basically, do we know the rules?
  2. How are we using technology to maximize my student athlete’s recruiting process?  Basically, do we know how to take advantage of the rules?

Most families would answer “no” to both of the above question and if that is the case for your family then I encourage you to find out these answers.  Technology might be the single determining factor in any one student athlete’s recruiting process and that alone should be reason enough to learn how to utilize it.
