Bradley Krisanits, NCSA Student Athlete: Combines and More

September 8th, 2008 - by Brian Davidson

Coming out of my freshmen season I knew I wanted to play College Football. So I startedBradley working twice as hard at school and football. I studied for hours and hours and it was worth it by the end of my freshmen years. With straight A’s the whole entire freshmen year I was ranked 15 out of 166 students, and my GPA ended up to be 3.75.

Through the year I played two other sports wrestling, and track and field, also in my spare time we went to our local gym where I would work out. I lifted, ran sprints, and did drills with my Dad.  The first combine that I attended in Pittsburgh, PA on April 28th was Schuman’s National Underclassman combine. I think I did well for my first time but not my best. Doing well was not enough for me so that makes me work even harder for next year. I will make it one of my best!

Summer was coming it would be time for camps, passing scrimmages, summer practices, and unofficial visits. Ahh June its warm summer days perfect for first of my many busy days.  School was out on the 10th of June and my first football camp was June 11th – 13th at Bloomsburg University. June 14th was a great day also it was my birthday I turned 15. Then on the 15th (yes Fathers Day) to the 18th I was heading for another football camp at Penn State University.

On the 19th I was back at school for summer practices 4 days a week all voluntary from 8am to 10am to keep my body in shape. But that was not the end of my day when my Dad got home from work we would got to the our local gym lift, run ladders, and go out on a field and run drills, and sprints. I would continue this all summer long.

June 24 we had our first passing scrimmage I ended up with an interception and a deflected pass. Central Columbia (my school) came out on top we won against Northwest High School. Also on June 29 I sent my first Unofficial visit request to Bloomsburg University. June turned into July and our second passing scrimmage was against Wyoming Valley West we lost that one and I only had one stop they are a big school and we did ok. Then on July 12 my team and I attended the Lock Haven University 7-on-7 Tournament. They separated us into varsity and junior varsity. I played JV we did better then our varsity though we came out 6-1 and I had 2 interceptions and 5 stops. The team we lost to we later beat 14-0 (shut out!). That tournament ended well but we knew that 3 days later we would have a hard passing scrimmage. The team we played was Berwick Junior Senior High School our Coach’s old team, a bigger, stronger school then we, and a cross-town game. Central won 35-7.  I came in half way through the game and ended the game with 4 stops.

On the 13th of July I sent my second visit request to Indiana University…they didn’t write me back but I didn’t give up. We had a couple days off from passing scrimmages so it was back to summer practices. Sure enough on the 21st of July we had another tournament like 7-on-7 competition at Bloomsburg University. We played big schools! Central Dauphin split into three units and Hershey had one. Central Columbia won three out of four losing to one of the Central Dauphin squads. The Bloomsburg passing scrimmage was the last one in the summer of 08. Now it was just back to lifting and running in the morning until Hell Week started.

The 24th I sent another unofficial request out this time to Edinboro University. Scott Browning, Edinboros` coach wrote me back saying they will be busy for the next few weeks and that I could stop by the office and introduce myself. I got the same response from Bucknell University when I wrote them on August 5th. I was to busy myself though to go and introduce myself but after the season or early next year I am planning to see them.
