The Goosebump Effect

There are quite a few elements that come into choosing which school will fit you the best. Of course there are the standard guidelines, such as the best academic opportunity, the size of the school, geographic location, scholarship money, playing time, etc. These are all extremely important and necessary factors that help in the decision process. The only problem about these key points is that sometimes they are just not quite the “deciding factor.”
For example, say Johnny is extremely interested in attending both University of Blue and attending Red State University. It is getting close to signing day and the two schools are neck and neck. Both have great academic opportunities, have an excellent athletic program, fit his geographic preference and are offering scholarships. He has a tough decision to make!
He then remembers that every time he stepped foot on the University of Blue’s campus, there was something special about it. When inside of the stadium at the University of Blue, a feeling comes over Johnny that he really cannot describe or hide. The tailgating going on outside of the stadium, the walk down the tunnel to the field, the crowd inside the stadium, the band, and just the overall electricity, all factor into this feeling. A feeling I like to call: “The Goosebump Effect.”
The goosebumps never go away! No matter how many times you have visited the school, or how many games you have been too, they never go away. Win or loose, they are there. Again, there is a lot to look into when deciding on a school. All of the other elements that go into the recruiting process and trying to figure out which school is best, can sometimes be overtaken by looking to see if the hair on your forearms are standing up whenever you around a certain school, especially on game day. So if you are feeling uncertain on making a decision, take a look at “The Goosebump Effect” to see if it can help clear things up.
