Open Letter from Chris

November 10th, 2008 - by Chris Krause

Chris KrauseIn order to continually improve the content that we provide our loyal readers on a weekly basis, I wanted to take advantage of this week’s column to reach out to those of you who find the information in these newsletters helpful.

The mission of this newsletter is simple:  provide families with expert information about the recruiting process.  With that in mind, we have tried our best to cover topics that every family will encounter at some point during the process and the for the most part we have received great feedback.  However, this newsletter should be something that you want to read every single week, and it should be reflection of the information that you desire.

Our goal is to make this newsletter a dialogue between the expertise that we have access to as an organization based on our experience, technology, and connections and the type of recruiting information that will satisfy your needs.  This is your chance to dictate the information that we distribute every week!

If you have an idea related to recruiting that you would like to learn more about, then simply email us at newsletter@ncsasports.org and let us know what is important to you.  Our focus moving forward will be to improve the relevancy of all the topics that we cover to ensure this newsletter is something that you look forward to opening every week.

If you are in search of recruiting information that is updated on a daily basis, I encourage you to check out our Recruiting Education Blog  which has become a must read for parents and student athletes.  Fresh content is constantly being added and this type of forum allows you the chance to join the conversation by commenting with families in a similar position around the country.

I want to thank those of you who have read this newsletter every week and hope that you can help us make it even better.

Can you go over questions a recruit should ask coaches? This is in regards to a high school pitcher.
    Thanks,
    Norm

  2. Debra Heath Says:

All of the information that I have been sent have been very valuable. I am the booster president of my son’s football team and I share this with the parents of underclassmen.
Thank you for the information and guidance.

  3. Jeff Fassbinder Says:

I like the news letters. Not sure weekly is necessary but at least every other week. I find the information to be informative and helpful in the whole recruiting process.

  4. Steve Izzo Says:

I would love to see some kind of interactive map. A place where you can input your address and other variables like a 3 hour radius, D1 or D3, baseball or football school.
We’d like our son to be able to get home if he needs to. This would help us begin our search.

  5. KC Riedell Says:

Please include information on the “next steps”. Making a verbal commitment, signings, etc. I’ve so far only seen info on “early decisions”. What about seniors who have been offered multiple verbal offers. What are the do’s and don’ts or pitfalls to watch out for?

  6. Junior Urraca Says:

What about seniors who are looking for that extra information. About after high school going to the next big stage..

  7. Tony Sandow Says:

I am taking full advantage of the news letter. I find it extremely useful. I intend to have my second son in the program soon. I was a little late with my first son but will take full use with my second son. I have had a positive experience with NCSA from top to bottom.

    Thanks,

    Tony

  8. Tina Royer Says:

I truly appreciate all of the valuable information that you provide on a weekly basis. It has definitely been very helpful and informative as we continue to proceed with our son’s recruiting for Division 1 football. This is a new experience for us and your Website has really prepared us for each step along the way. Your advice has been extremely helpful, and we feel things are moving along very positively for his future in college football. Thanks again!

  9. Martin John Says:

I see Nebraska has offered 9, 2010 QB’s. If 3 or 4 verbally accept their offer, what’s going to happen?

  10. Karen Says:

This has been a great resource tool to help my high school senior become better prepared when going through the recruiting process. We look forward to the weekly communication and it allows him to feel confident about his approach as well as answers questions for me.
    Thank you!

I am hoping to pick up a basketball scholarship as well, and am open to any college or university in the U.S. Thanks in advance

i would like to see a article on money for callege. my parents make to much money for me to qualify for fafsa, and like so many parents the money they goes out in bills. what options do i have, outside of a full ride. most of these schools dont offer schoolarships such as d2, d3, naia and depending on the position you play in football some school want you to walk on first. what are my options.

  15. melinda Says:

I am new to whole sports thing. I would like to know what is the difference between the D1, D2, D3 schools. What does naia stand for.
