What if your economic situation changes?

November 10th, 2008 - by Keith Babb

I read an interesting article in last week’s “Chronicle of Higher Education” about the economy’s impact on students’ ability to pay for college.  It quoted a Financial Aid officer at a relatively expensive, private college discussing families who’s economic situation changed suddenly, “If it’s 20 [families] we’re fine.  If it’s 100, we’ll have to change the way we do things.”  If you’re a recruited student athlete, your financial aid package can change from year to year.  You need to ask the right questions of the institutions recruiting you to find out what could happen in year 2, 3, and 4 of your college career.  You don’t want to be surprised.  To find out great questions, start here
