Do You REALLY Want to Play College Sports?
April 7th, 2009 - byI’ve asked that question to many athletes in the past few years. Many times athletes give me a less than 100% response. They would like to play given a specific scenario. Unfortunately college sports don’t work
like that. Either you are 100% in, or the chances are that you wont succeed. No level of talent or pedigree can make up for a lack of pure desire.
I can think of a better example of this type of situation than today’s news that Jake Elway is leaving the Arizona State Football team. Jake Elway, as in the son of Super Bowl MVP John Elway. Jake isn’t transfering to a new program, he is simply quitting football.
“He’s just tired of football and wants to do something else with his life,” ASU coach Dennis Erickson said Monday. “He made a decision, and we all understand it. He would have played here eventually.”
So if you are a high school athlete, who is absolutley 100% committed to playing in college, I urge you to get started today.
