I applaud Keith Babb for the four great blog essays. Parents of, and athletically and academically qualified prospects exploiting the experience, wisdom and suggestions of this remarkable scout, can look forward to receiving financial aid for the prospect's athletic ability. It's not easy to secure athletic financial aid, if it was everyone would do it. I find it interesting that most parents and prospects want the benefits of athletic financial aid, yet so many of them are unwilling to do the difficult work required to accomplish the objective. And those that are don't recognize they're entering a high stakes contest and only the opposition knows the rules. Unfortunately, too many of them have persuaded themselves that they do know the recruiting rules: well, certainly the two most important ones. 1. If you're good enought they'll find you, 2. That the High School Coach can get a prospect a scholarship. Believing these two dream shattering myths often leaves parents and prospects sitting on their recruiting hands waiting for the miracle that they've unfortunately deluded themselves will be revealed. The brutal fact is that most often and sometimes tragically, recruiting miracles don't happen. The recruiting process must be engaged! I suggest to all that have read Kieth's sage advice to get active now or partner with NCSA so it can run your recruiting interference, become successfully recruited and receive the financial for athletic ability that most prospects richly deserve.
