Coach Taylor’s Top 25 Pre-Season Rankings

Former PAC-10 recruiting coordinator and current NCSA Recruiting Expert Randy Taylor has announced his pre-season top 25 football programs for the 2012 season. Counting down to #1, one team will be announced each day along with a glimpse of Coach’s notes. Today we announce #25, and as an added bonus to kick off the list, #25-B.

#25 North Carolina

They have a talented QB and RB with a veteran OL. The Tar Heels also have a lot of points that come from the kicking game. As a team they have talent, athleticism and most importantly a schedule where they can find wins. I’m also a big fan of Vic Koenning, their offensive coordinator, and know their defense will compete.

#25-B Boise State

I’m hedging my bets here. They’ll win a lot of games, be well coached, have underrated payers and over achieve. The reason Boise State is so consistent has to do with three simple facts, their staff is great at identifying talent, putting that talent in a position to be successful and coaching them up.

A perfect example of this is former Bronco, Orlando Scandrick, who’s now playing for the Dallas Cowboys. Out of Los Alamitos High School he was passed over by PAC-10 and other big schools, found a home in Boise and turned into an NFL player.
