Most student-athletes who come knocking at college coaches’ doors, are simply unqualified to play that level. The same goes for parents. Part of a parent’s job is to be a child’s number one fan. Though this is the trademark of a good parent, it is not conducive to making an objective evaluation of a child’s potential. Especially when parents likely have little, if any, access to the level of competition nationwide.
