NCSA Collegiate Power Rankings Countdown- #12 Johns Hopkins University

We are counting down the top schools in our 11th Annual NCSA Collegiate Power Rankings which will launch Tuesday, September 3rd.  This year #12 is Johns Hopkins ranked 12th. Below are 8 fun facts about Johns Hopkins

1)      They have two sets of colors old gold and sable for academics and Columbia blue and black for athletics.

2)      Their mascot is a blue jay.

3)      All of their teams compete at the division III level except for their men’s and women’s lacrosse teams which are often competing for national championships at the division I level.

4)      The men’s lacrosse team has won 44 national titles- 9 at the division 1 level.

5)      The university accepts about 17% of their applicants- 87% of those admitted were in the top 10% of their high school class.

6)      Johns Hopkins is really the first to create a modern research university in the United States, and continues to rank highly across the world for its research initiatives.

7)      37 noble prize winners are alumni of Johns Hopkins.

8)      84% of attendees graduate in four years.
