Weekend Watch: Outdoor Workouts for Fall

Can you believe the last weekend of September is upon us? For the NCSA team based out of Chicago, that means fall and winter weather is around the corner. But for now, the weekend is looking pretty incredible.  Sunshine, temps in the 70s – we’ll take it!

Plus, as Chicagoans, we sadly know this weather won’t last.

Whether you’re a student-athlete, parent, coach, sibling or friend, it does everyone some good to get active and get outside while we can.

Members of the NCSA team take to the water for an early morning SUP workout on Lake Michigan.

Standup paddle boarding, for example, burns 565 calories per hour. “The water is healling,” says Chris Krause, founder and CEO of NCSA Athletic Recruiting. “Every rough patch I’ve ever gone through in my life, I’ve gotten through it on the water on my SUP board–and every great workout I’ve had in my life has been on the water. I highly recommend SUP for a switch-up from your normal routine, and as an all-around therapy session.”
