The holiday season is always a time for student-athletes to come together with their families and friends.
It’s also a time when we’re reminded to give back and help those in need.
Our Athleadership Grant program helps deserving student-athletes get the tools they need to connect with college coaches and play their sport at the next level. A committee of NCSA team members review all of the applications to find student-athleteswho exemplify leadership qualities of on the field, in the classroom and in giving back to their communities.
This year, we set a record in Athleadership Grants for student-athletes
2015 has been a record-breaking year for this grant program. NCSA Athletic Recruiting distributed more than 1,500 Athleadership Grants for student-athletes.
That means that families, coaches and athletic directors helped us empower 1,500 student-athletes with full access to our premium services:
- access to the Recruiting Management System
- professionally edited highlight video
- personal coaching in the recruiting process
- professional development after college
Some of these student-athletes have already committed to schools at every level. And we’re so excited to see where the rest are able to find the right fit to play in college. For us, it’s already exciting to know that we’ve been able to give back almost $2 million to deserving student-athletes.
‘Tis better to give than to receive, right?
What does Athleadership mean?
Here’s our founder, Chris Krause, describing why we’ve named these grants after the principle of athleadership, or empowering ourselves and others through the life lessons of sports:
