Tom Lemming’s Top 100 2011 Football Recruits (with videos!)

June 2nd, 2010 - by Tom Lemming

After another great tour all way across America, I give you the 2011 Tom Lemming Football Top 100 list. It seems every year that trimming the list gets harder and harder. There are so many quality players today with so many options to get recruited. These top players are special in that they stood out from the pack, but for all the other players that haven’t found a way to stand out, I encourage you to start getting pro-active and contacting college coaches.

“Chris Krause (NCSA Founder) was in my magazine as a high school senior and I’ve known him his whole professional life as one of the most sincere people I’ve ever met. He really goes against the adage nice guys finish last. As far as football recruiting NCSA has has become the first stop for coaches and should be for prospects. If you need any help with recruiting I recommend you contact an NCSA Scout today.” – Tom Lemming

-Can’t understate what a big lift it was for Rick Neuhesial and UCLA to grab Owamagbe Odighizuwa. He is a beast.

-You know times are changing when Notre Dame gets beat out by Boise State for a recruit. Jeremy Ioane will provide a big lift for Boise State at Safety.

-Lane Kiffin continues to excite out West. Markeith Ambles is a big time playmaker.

-Its not often Nick Saban misses out on a player he seriously targeted, but Derek Dooley and Auburn did just that for OL James Stone.

-A ho hum day for Mack Brown at Texas, they have followed through on landing every commitment so far.

Some Quick Themes of Today.

-USC is cleaning up. They are pulling kids from Tennessee and Florida like Nickele Robey and Markeith Ambles.

-But, while Tennessee has taken a bit of a hit, Derek Dooley has held his own picking up some commitments of this own like Da’rick Rogers and James Stone.

-Alabama has lost Keenan Allen to Cal.

-Texas A&M and Mike Sherman lost their biggest commitment, Corey Nelson to Oklahoma.

Will be back later with even more news!

Signing Day Eve

February 2nd, 2010 - by Tom Lemming

Tomorrow is of course the culmination of College Football’s Second Season, the Recruiting Game. Its been an unbelievably busy past 12 hours. The major theme heading into signing day is that its almost all done. The number 1-26 will be announcing with us on CBS college sports and everyone else is gone. The other major theme is how dominant Florida and Texas were this year. We will see how many kids switch schools in the last 24 hours. Its not like it was 10 years with a lot of kids announcing on signing day. Its all anti climatic.

My preliminary signing day top 10 classes are:

Florida

Texas

Alabama

USC

Auburn

Ok

LSU

Penn St

Georgia

Tennessee

Florida and Texas are way ahead and the bottom three could all shuffle tomorrow. UCLA, Oregon and Virginia Tech have all come on strong. Oregon getting Lache Seastrunk was a major catch for them. Auburn popping up at #5 was a major breakthrough, they haven’t been that high in years. The SEC has 6 of the top 10 due to their aggressiveness and the fact that they pay their assistants more and are allowed to sign more players.

The big potential surprise will be if Seantrell Henderson goes anywhere other than Ohio State or USC. The other will be guys switching schools. Of course it wouldn’t be surprise if we knew about it!

Be sure to check out CBS and NCSA tomorrow as we break Signing Day News all day!
