2011 NCSA College Power Rankings
Top Athletic & Academic Colleges
Amherst College took control of the NCSA power rankings from Williams College in 2011 after the two switched spots from a year ago. Amherst combined its strong academic credentials with a No. 2 finish in the Division III Directors' Cup. Middlebury kept its No. 3 position in the rankings while MIT moved up from sixth to fourth and Stanford dropped from fourth to fifth. There were just two newcomers to the top 10. Duke improved two spots, from 11th to ninth, while Harvard bumped itself from 13th to 10th.
