My name is Mike Goneau and it was my son John that was NCSA's client.
John was a very strong student in high school and received literature from well over 200 schools in the mail, but it wasn't until after the NCSA Scouting Report was sent out that he started getting contacted by baseball coaches from these schools. He was contacted by the coaches from over 70 schools. He visited about 15-20 schools and then applied to 5 schools. He was accepted to all 5. From the 5 he narrowed it down to 3 finalists and eventually to 1 school.
John chose to attend Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN. He is majoring in Psychology. After weighing the pros and cons of his three finalists, he felt SMSU was the best fit.
John made the varsity as a freshman and was second on the team in appearance pitching out of the bullpen. As a sophomore he made the starting rotation and was 5-4 with a 2.60 ERA. He had the second best ERA in the conference and was named First Team All-Conference and Academic All-Conference in the NSAC (Northern Sun Athletic Conference). He has also made the Dean's list.
