Student Athlete’s Name: Richie Bonilla
Hometown: Weston, FL
Grad Year: 2006
College Attending: University of Tennessee
Richie Bonilla joined the National Collegiate Scouting Association in the middle of his junior year with the hope of learning more about the recruiting process and gaining a competitive advantage over other prospective student-athletes looking to compete in college. While Bonilla possessed more than enough talent to make it to the next level on the course and in the classroom, he learned many valuable lessons from NCSA that he wouldn't have received elsewhere.
NCSA not only helped Bonilla establish relationships with many college coaches, he was able to learn how to communicate with them and make himself more marketable as a student-athlete.
"I was more comfortable and confident in what I was saying (when speaking with college coaches)," said Bonilla.
The men's cross country coach at the University of Tennessee was impressed with Bonilla and extended an offer to him, which he accepted. With the help of NCSA, Richie Bonilla feels confident about his path, knowing there is nothing that can bring him down.
"I'm looking forward to the entire college experience," said Bonilla.
