Hi, my name is Michaella Pirozzi. I am a senior at Westlake High School in California. I am fairly new to the California region, I used to live in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. In New Jersey that is where I found the love for field hockey. Throughout my experience I have learned so much about teamwork, sportsmanship, being competitive, and also having fun. My goals are continuing field hockey in college, wanting to get into a well-rounded school to help me with my education but also help me become a better hockey player.
Throughout my four years of playing hockey, I have learned very much about hockey but also about my team. I was captain of my team this year. Being captain changed my thinking about how a team operates, you have to be there for them no matter what, helping them with team problems and possibly school ones as well. Trying to teach them how to play hockey, and maybe coming from different approaches. Everyone has a different learning style. As a captain, you have to be supportive of your team members, and be there friend most of all. Being the new girl in the later years of high school, then becoming captain a year later, with getting the best offensive player of the year award two years in a row is something that I am proud of. That shows me that, if you keep doing what you love, as in playing hockey, you’re strong enough to keep going doing the things you love to do.
Being on the hockey field, playing the game is the best thrill I have. Being able to dribble the ball down the field, playing by all the other team's members makes my heart beat fast. I love to play the sport. If you are looking for a girl who loves the sport, works hard in school also on the field, loves to try new things, but also knows how to stand up for herself. That is me. I want to team that will support me like I will support them and also make memories on the way.
