Personal Statement

Hello coaches! My name is Maya Tedawes, and I am in the class of 2026 at Immaculate Hugh School in Danbury, CT! I have been a varsity starter there since my freshman year, but in the offseason, I play for New York Hockey Club. I adore both of these teams because of their sense of community, which is something that I deeply value. Also, I have been playing viola since I was seven years old, and basketball from grades 3 to 9. I am also in National Charity League where I have volunteered over 200 hours each year since seventh grade. NCL is something that always opens my eyes to new experiences and different ways that I can give back to my community. Despite the horrors of Covid, I enjoyed trading stocks with my dad at home, which is one reason that I am interested in majoring in finance. Also, I took biology honors my freshman year and fell in love, which is why I am also looking into majoring in biology or biotech. Thank you so much for your time!
