Personal Statement

Playing field hockey at the college level is something that I have dreamed of since I began my high school career. As a freshman, I was fortunate enough to be invited to tryout for varsity and made the team, as a sophomore and thereafter I was a varsity starter.  My team ended up being 2014 Hockomock League Champions; in 2015 we were Hockomock League Champions and went to Divisional finals.

Continuing my field hockey career at the collegiate level is a challenge that I look forward to.  I am confident in my ability to manage the transition by striking a balance between athletics and academics.  Continuing to be part of a team culture is also something I’m looking forward to.

I am a very determined and hardworking person so playing in college would let those qualities shine through on and off the playing field. As a student, I am a hard worker and put my full effort in to my studies on top of being a three sport varsity athlete. For my junior year I chose to challenge myself with a heavy and challenging load of science and business courses to help me explore possible areas of interest for my career.  I have had to develop strong time management skills to be successful. I also started running track as a junior which was very successful.  I captured the school record with a time of 3:03.26 in the 1000m beating the previous school record by 4 seconds, and was league champion in that race.  I was also league champion in the 800m in spring track with a time of 2:22:87.  My 4x400 relay team placed 2nd in Regionals in winter track and 3rd in states in spring track.  As my senior year begins, I’m enthusiastic about continuing my field hockey career and look forward to an opportunity to play college field hockey.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
