Personal Statement
My name is Emma Rutledge and I am a 5’6” center forward/wing. I am from Alfred, Maine and am currently a junior at Massabesic High School, graduating in 2018. I’ve been playing field hockey for 7 years and have had experience playing on various club teams throughout my field hockey career.
I have been a varsity starter since my freshman year. I have received awards for all-rookie team and All- Conference 2nd team two years in a row. I was also named offensive MVP in 2016. I hold my high school’s record for amount of goals scored and have held it since 2017. I am also tied for the amount of assists in a year. I believe that my most valuable assets are my stick skills, passes, quick shots on goal, offensive defense, my ability to be coachable and my knowledge of the game.
I am an honor roll student and have received all-academic team for field hockey every year. I plan on attending a 4-year university in the fall of 2018 and majoring in marketing, while minoring in pharmaceutical sciences; with the hopes of becoming a pharmaceutical representative. I would prefer to stay in New England, but I am open to all opportunities. I am looking forward to extending my field hockey career by playing at the collegiate level.
