Sports have always played a significant role in my life, as I was born with fierce competitiveness flowing through my veins. I started playing ice hockey when I was four years old, and I was instantly hooked. Although I will always cherish being on the ice, and hope to be able to play for decades to come, my passion has shifted; i fell in love with field hockey. I was introduced to field hockey in sixth grade, at Kingswood Oxford, a small day school in Connecticut. I needed to choose a fall sport, and field hockey seemed like a good compliment to ice hockey and lacrosse. I played for four years there. At the end of my sophomore year I transferred as a boarding student to Northfield Mount Hermon, in pursuit of a higher level of athletics and academics. At NMH, everything changed for me. Playing in a competitive, Division 1 environment intensified my passion for field hockey. While sharpening my skills to compete with the top athletes in the northeast, field hockey has become my primary focus, eclipsing even my love for the ice.
I can't imagine my life without sports, and most of all, field hockey. Every opportunity that I have to be on the field with a stick in my hand has helped to shape who I am. The countless hours I spend practicing, traveling, and competing, are genuinely some of my favorite moments. My teammates and coaches have an enormous influence on me...they are an extension of my family. My coaches would tell you I'm "relentless", my teammates would describe me as "fierce", and my parents would call me "obsessed". I can't remember a day where I haven't dreamt of wearing a college uniform, representing my school, and playing in the big leagues.
