Personal Statement
When I began playing field hockey in middle school I had no idea the depth of impact that the sport would have on me. Having done various sports all my life I have always been competitive- minded but when I started playing field hockey and began to love the game and engage in the community centered around the sport, I found a platform that embodied values that were present in other facets of my life. Determination, dedication, and selflessness are all characteristics I feel as though I learned through playing at a competitive level for the past few years of my life.
Dedication and determination are clearly seen throughout my academic career. I do not shy away from challenges and am willing to put in the extra work to get the results I want. I am very motivated academically and am looking for a school that will help me reach my highest potential. I am part of a very rigorous diploma program, the International bacchelaurate, that teaches students to be independent thinkers and manage an immense workload. Eventually I hope to attend law school and become a prosecutor. Outside of strictly academic terms I am very involved in my community; selflessness and service are values I hold dear. I am very active member of my church and have gone on multiple service trips locally and across the country to help those less fortunate. In addition I am the president of the Rotary interact club at BCC and am members of various other clubs dedicated to serving my community. I hope to attend a school that is academically rigorous and has a sense of community built around the field hockey program, a place where I am challenge mentally and physically to be my best.
