Samantha Middleton '16 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Samantha Middleton, I am from Yarmouth, ME. I am currently a senior in high school and field hockey is my passion and hobby. I have been playing for seven years. I have been on an elite travel team called Maine STYX for the past three years since I was a freshman in high school. I started field hockey training my freshman year and have continued that up till this year. I play year round and have no interest any other sports. In between field hockey I go to the gym and do a tone class and ab class during the week to mix it up. I have been on the varsity field hockey team at Yarmouth and saw a lot of press this year and my junior year. I eat sleep and breathe field hockey it is something I really enjoy doing and have fell in love with the sport ever since I picked up my first stick in sixth grade. I am very outgoing I love to meet new people, laugh, have fun and share my passion and love with others who feel the same about something they admire. I could go on forever about how much I love field hockey it is all I talk about 99% of my wardrobe is field hockey clothes. I have taught middle schoolers field hockey on the weekends and have found so much joy in doing that to see the smiles on their little faces reminds me of why I love this sport. I am wanting to find a fun loving "big one family" as my high school team would call it. I think the wonderful thing about field hockey is that we are different than any other sport/team we are a big family and act as ONE. I love knowing my teammates are my sisters. I'm a southernbelle and a New England girl. I've had the privilege to experience both the south and New England due to my parents divorce when I was nine. I'm a mommy's girl and without her my love for field hockey wouldn't be the same. She introduced me to the sport she loved and I wouldn't be where I am today without her. She's my hero.
