Personal Statement
Hi, My name is Peyton Baer I am 17 years old and am currently a Senior at Carolina Day School in Asheville, NC. I have played for the varsity field hockey team, coached by Holly Martin ([email protected]), for five years and for the junior varsity team for one year. I have been a starting midfielder or forward for the last five years. We played 11 games this season and are 9 and 2. I have scored 9 goals and have made 11 assists. I also have played with a travel club team, the NC TarDevils, coached by Donnae Farrington ([email protected]), for the past four years.
My extracurricular activities include varsity swimming, varsity soccer, and acting as the treasurer of my church’s youth group. Additionally, I have contributed over one hundred hours of volunteer community service and was recently inducted into Carolina Day School’s Highlander Society as a freshman. I also have served 2 years on the Carolina Day School Honor Council, and am an acting member of Safer Club, SADD, Interact, and Economics club.
My hopes are to continue to improve my skills in field hockey and in life by attending a school with top academics that will help strive to learn more about myself and life.. I am a strong student with an A average and have no trouble balancing school and athletics. I am interested in political science or international affairs with a minor in a foreign language, preferably Spanish.
