Personal Statement
I am currently in my Junior year at Kennett High School in North Conway NH. I have played organized sports and tried different positions however my passion has been found in field hockey. My love for the game and the position of goal keeper has really enhanced my athleticism, focus and intensity. The challenge of being the last person in the line of defense and coordinating with my teammates to successfully stop the other team from scoring is a challenge I look forward to every time I step on the field. To be as effective as I can be, I feel that it's important for me to be a true student of the game. This leads me to focus on skills, strategies, most importantly how to communicate with my defense. I have found that there is always more to learn about goalkeeping and the game of field hockey. With that being said, during my offseason I train with Maine STYX, participate in different tournaments, go to field hockey camps, and train with my local cross fit gym to increase my agility and core strength.Juggling school and field hockey year round can sometimes be challenging and while it can present some difficulty, it only inspires me to push further. I continue to take all honors classes and intern with both my athletic trainer Colby Locke, and my graphics teacher Justin Griffin. My time spent working with my athletic trainer has inspired me to pursue my ideal major for college, and my potential career.
Being a part of a college field hockey team would mean the world to me. The support of being part of the team and sisterhood along with playing the game that I love so much is a dream of mine. I would bring strong leadership skills to the team as my focus is to lead by example and support my teammates both on and off the field. I am also open to positive feedback and advice. I will put 100% of my effort in all drills, practices, and games. Please consider me to be a part of your 2020 roster.
