When I was little, I began my early sports years by playing soccer. I was on my town's travel soccer team and I always thought this mean't I would be playing soccer for the rest of my life and become a professional. I always had an underlying dream to follow my mom's footsteps and play field hockey. When sixth grade came around, my parents gave me an ultimatum; soccer or field hockey. After giving it much thought, I traded in my soccer ball for a field hockey stick and never looked back. The more I played, the more in love with the sport I became. When my freshman year was around the corner, I trained very hard so that I would be "varsity ready" and all that training paid off because I not only played varsity my freshman year but I started in every game. This gave me the confidence I needed to realize I would never want to leave field hockey behind for it had become such a major roll in my life. My goal in playing field hockey in college is to continue my field hockey career with new teammates and new coaches. I will stop at nothing in order to succeed. I consider myself different from other players because I like to be considered teachable. I am always anxious to learn a new skill. I always give my best, in school and on the field (or court). I also play basketball and lacrosse at Parsippany High School. Being that I have played many sports in my life, I feel as if i have an advantage over others because I have developed skills in all of my sports that I can apply to field hockey such as body positioning to see everything on the field. I also have a better understanding of how a team should work as one to achieve a goal. I am a very determined player and student to always be my best. I am very determined to be "college ready" and my training starts now.
